Meet Anacortes author Lois V. Harris as she signs copies of her inspiring juvenile biography “Mary Cassatt: Impressionist Painter” ($15) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Edmonds Bookshop. The event is part of the Edmonds Arts Festival, which runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Three noir night: Curt Colbert, author of the Jake Rossiter series, a hard-boiled private eye working the streets of Seattle in the 1940s, comes to Third Place Books with a collection he edited, “Seattle Noir.” Colbert will be there at 7 p.m. Thursday along with two of the contributing mystery writers, Skye Moody and G.M. Ford.
