Book bark: Does your child struggle with reading out loud? Why not bring him or her to practice reading to specially trained dogs at the Evergreen branch of the Everett Public Library?
Offered every Monday from 3 to 5 p.m. this free, drop-in program features dogs that are certified by Canine Companions for Independence and the Delta Society Reading with Rover. Dogs love to hear stories, and they put children at ease. They also don’t mind, or even notice, mistakes.
Each time your child reads to a dog, he or she will receive a trading card with the dog’s pawtograph. (Collect all 12!) See www.epls.org for details.
