Rick Steves, the European travel guru and Edmonds resident, continues to find ways innovative ways to bring his expertise to the public.
The latest free gift to European travelers is a Rick Steves app: software for an iPhone, Android or Kindle.
Steves has collected his audio walking tours of museums, castles and cities alongside topical interviews culled from his weekly public radio travel show.
It’s easy to download audio chapters before you leave for, say, Rome. Then Steves can guide you through destinations including the Sistene Chapel and the rest of the Apostolic Palace.
Steves’ podcast guides to places such as the Louvre in Paris have been impressive. Now, they’re impressively easy to navigate and use.
There’s even a feature that allows you to tell Rick to hurry up. The app allows users to double the speed of the audio delivery.
