“Run for Your Wife”: Ray Cooney brings us hilarious hijinks with the story of John Smith, a London cab driver who happens to be married to Mary and Barbara.
John had kept this pretense going by carefully juggling a precise schedule. But that’s disrupted when Smith is mugged. To cover his tracks, John tells a lie that turns into mayhem — with the help of his not-so-bright neighbor Stanley. One lie leads to another, and another and the game is on. Mix in a determined cop, a gay dressmaker, dress-stealing nuns and two gallons of running paint and you have the recipe for some side-splitting humor.
