Visits to Gene Juarez Salons &Spas will take on a special purpose in October.
In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, women over 40 are encouraged to schedule mammograms at Gene Juarez locations.
Walk-ins will be accepted as space allows, but appointments are preferred. They will be set between 9 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. Tuesdays, beginning today, and Oct. 13, 20 and 27.
Exams will be billed to insurance, or checks for $183 will be accepted. Those with low incomes or who are uninsured can receive free exams through the Washington State Breast and Cervical Health Program.
A free spa treatment will be included with each appointment.
The mammograms will be given at the Alderwood Mall Gene Juarez Salon &Spa, on Oct. 27. The salon is at 3000 184th St. SW, Suite 392, in Lynnwood.
The other Tuesday appointments are at salons in Seattle and Bellevue.
