Beauty deal: This is the last weekend for Lyric Light Opera of the Northwest’s production of “Beauty and the Beast” and the chance to shave $5 off the ticket price for this tale as old as time.
The last three performances of “Beauty and the Beast” are at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at McIntyre Hall, 2501 E College Way, Mount Vernon. Tickets range from $15 to $32. Call 360-416-7727 or 866-624-6897 or go to www.mcintyrehall.org.
The $5 discount will be applied to the cost of an adult ticket redeemable by calling the box office and mentioning the discount code: “Magical.”
“Beauty and the Beast” is a family-friendly show with lead actors from Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre, Village Theatre and Broadway, and boasts a full cast of 40 and a live orchestra. The sets and costumes are rich and elaborate; the music is heartwarming and the tale is classic a strong-willed young woman who, through the power of love, breaks a spell that has turned a handsome young prince into a hideous beast.
Get revived: The American-roots inspired sounds of Deadwood Revival will get your feet stomping and put you into the hoe-down spirit — all for free. From a guitar, banjo and fiddle, Deadwood Revival pours out a pure sound that prompts you to snap your fingers. And there’s no better place to be revived than outside. So bring a blanket or a lawn chair and set a spell or kick up your heels at 3 p.m. Sunday at Edmonds City Park, Third and Pine streets in downtown Edmonds. Rain will cancel the show. The next free concert at Edmonds City Park will feature Moodswings and is planned for Aug. 3.
