Trading post: After learning about PeerFlix.com in the Herald, Lynnwood resident Scott Fehr recommended another Web site to help readers save a buck.
SwapTree.com lets users trade CDs, books, DVDs and video games with each other, all for the price of shipping and handling.
The free site doesn’t place huge restrictions on trades. Instead, it connects you with users that want what you don’t. Say you’ve already finished Stephanie Myers’ recent bestseller “The Host.” You can trade it for a CD such as Gwen Stefani’s “The Sweet Escape” or the Nintendo game “Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.”
While you can trade books for video games, you end up with a wider selection of titles to choose from when you swap like items — one DVD for another, for example.
“I’ve personally completed about 50 trades over the past year, and it’s a wonderful way of leveraging your old stuff to get new books, movies, music and games for free,” Fehr writes.
