We’re Going to the Movies: Whidbey Island Center for the Arts, 565 Camano Avenue, Langley, will be showing movies at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday until live entertainment is permitted in Island County. Tickets are $15. The series continues Nov. 7 with “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” (1974), and “The Last Emperor” (1988) on Nov. 8. Everett Meaningful Movies: On Feb. 14, 2018, a gunman opened fire with a semi-automatic rifle at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, killing 17 and injuring 17 others. Witnesses identified the shooter as a 19-year-old former student at the school. Showing Nov. 1 via Zoom is “Parkland Rising,” a documentary about students and their allies who are demanding action to reduce gun violence. At 6 p.m. join a Zoom call to discuss the movie.
