Sno-King Meaningful Movies: “Chasing Coral” is showing at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 12 at Edmonds Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 8109 224 St. SW, Edmonds. Coral reefs are the nursery for all life in the oceans. Yet with carbon emissions warming the seas, a phenomenon called “coral bleaching” — a sign of mass coral death — has been accelerating around the world. Edmonds Center for the Arts Film Cabaret Series: “Crazy Heart,” a 2009 movie with Jeff Bridges as a down-and-out songwriter who tries to turn his life around after beginning a relationship with a young journalist, played by Maggie Gyllenhaal.
