Apple Award winners at Lake Stevens

Nominated and selected by their peers, the following Lake Stevens School District employees will be recognized for creating a positive, caring and productive school environment through exceptional effort, dedication or performance in their areas of responsibility.

January recipients: Marshal Wiygul, shop teacher at Lake Stevens Middle School; John Flick, school psychologist at Hillcrest Elementary; Carol Dvorak, math teacher at Cavelero Mid High; and Lorinda Hines, language arts and social studies teacher at North Lake Middle School.

Awards will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 10 at the Lake Stevens School Board meeting in the Educational Service Center, 12309 22nd St. NE, Lake Stevens.

Clinton student on college dean’s list

Breanne Mulcahy of Clinton was named to the dean’s list at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kan.

Full-time students with a minimum of 12 credit hours and a grade point average of 3.5 to 3.9 are named to the dean’s list.

Lake Stevens Schools’ students of month

The following students were recognized by the Lake Stevens School Board as outstanding secondary students of the month for December at the Jan. 13 school board meeting.

Lake Stevens High School

10th grade: Andrei Arevalo and Brianna Diaz.

11th grade: Kyle Hedges and Paige Whitney.

12th grade: Josef Heilman and Susan Lam.

PROVE High School

10th grade: Taylor Rose.

Cavelero Mid High School

Eighth grade: Beth Court and Joseph Palmieri.

Everett residents named to dean’s list

Erin Flotte and Kaitlin Hoban of Everett were named to the 2009 fall semester dean’s list at the University of Portland.

Flotte is a sophomore majoring in secondary education. Hoban is a junior majoring in nursing.

Students need at least a 3.5 grade point average to make the dean’s list.

WSU President’s fall 2009 honor roll

Students from Snohomish and Island counties were recently named to Washington State University’s President’s Honor Roll for the 2009 fall semester.

To be eligible for the honor roll, undergraduate students must be enrolled in nine graded hours in a single term at WSU and earn a grade point average of 3.75 or earn a 3.50 cumulative GPA, based on 15 cumulative hours of graded work.
