Everett student to play Benaroya Hall
Rebecca Rice of Everett, a section leader in the Central Washington University wind symphony, helped her school win the right to perform at Benaroya Hall in Seattle.
The CWU wind symphony competed with about 700 others throughout the nation for the chance to perform at the College Band Directors National Association conference on Friday. Only the top three groups were invited to perform at Benaroya Hall.
Rice is the drum major of the school’s marching band, principal oboe in the orchestra and wind ensemble and student co-coordinator of the Wind Ensemble Festival.
