Experience Music Project and Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame are offering free admission to their galleries from 5 to 8 p.m. on the first Thursday of every month, beginning Jan. 4.
“Finding stimulating ways to attract new audiences is what museums should be about, and this is an important step as we reach out to our community,” CEO Josi Callan said in a written statement.
And there’s lots to see:
The exhibit “Disney: The Music Behind the Magic,” which opened in November and continues through Sept. 9, looks at how music has played a role in Disney’s success during the past 80 years.
“Alien Encounters” features 33 original paintings from the last 70 years of magazine and book art that showcases artists’ depictions of how aliens might look.
Also, “Jazz In January” returns, beginning Jan. 10.
