Boy Scouts of America and Chief Seattle Council will team up on Saturday and Sunday to bring the first Scout Weekend to Woodland Park Zoo.
As part of the event, the zoo’s North Meadow on Saturday will be the site for reptile, mammal and orienteering merit badge clinics, along with other scout-related exhibits and challenges.
Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Camp Fire USA members in uniform will receive free zoo admission on these days when accompanied by a paying adult.
The zoo, open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, is at 601 N. 59th St., Seattle. Details are at 206-548-2500 and www.zoo.org. Regular admission is $8 and $11; free for those ages 2 and under.
