The Ringling Bros. and Barnum &Bailey circus is known as “The Greatest Show on Earth” for good reason.
The 134th edition, coming to the Everett Events Center Thursday through Sept. 19, is no exception.
Some of the things that make this show entertaining are the before-show events.
Ninety minutes before each show, ticket holders are invited to meet elephants, llamas, zebras and horses at the Animal Open House.
The Three Ring Adventure, one hour before show time, is an opportunity to step into the ring and visit with clowns, try on glittery, sequined circus costumes and participate in a sing-along with singer Danette Sheppard.
Led by exuberant clown host Elliott Zimet, participants can meet dancers and members of Clown Alley, learn skills such as juggling and walking on a low wire and shake hands with circus performers.
This year’s show features the Barnyard Hoedown, a father-son duo and their barnyard pals. Christine Zerbini and Nickolaus Winn make their debut as barnyard animal presenters and swaypole aerialists.
David Larible performs pranks and magic with a laugh. Ligia Farfan, a fifth-generation performer, joins husband Alfonso for some high-flying fun.
Sylvia Zerbini is joined by her Liberty equines for an aerial show with a twist.
For the first time in more than 20 years, 12 male lions enter the ring. Watch as trainer Jason Peters tests the talent and agility of these majestic creatures.
China Acrobatic Troupe, Motorcycle Mania and Tango de Argentina are other acts.
