The Seattle Shakespeare Co.’s outdoor Wooden O team is putting a little nip in its season with a pair of chilly summer shows.
The productions scheduled are “Twelfth Night,” directed by Makaela Pollock, and “The Winter’s Tale,” directed by Mary Machala.
Local performances are at parks in Lynnwood, Edmonds and Shoreline.
All performances are free and with donations encouraged at the site.
The 2012 Wooden O Free Outdoor Season:
“Twelfth Night”: This gender bender comedy has Viola disguising herself as a boy to find work as Duke Orsino’s servant. She is caught up in a compromising love triangle. The show has antics and quite a few comic characters.
Performances are at 7 p.m. July 18 and 19 at Lynndale Park Amphitheater, 18927 72nd Ave. W, Lynnwood; and 3 p.m. July 22 at Edmonds City Park and 7 p.m. July 25 at Richmond Beach Community Park, 2201 NW 197th St., Shoreline.
“The Winter’s Tale”: King Leontes seems to have everything. Alas, he is plagued with jealousy and suspicion and he and his wife plunge into despair. However, Skakespeare has created a touching reunions.
Shows are at 7 p.m. July 25 and 26 at Lynndale Park Ampitheater in Lynnwood.
