Many of us don’t realize there is a 54-acre glass school of international renown in Stanwood.
And every day, that private campus is closed. Except for one day a year.
That day will be July 18 when the Pilchuck Glass School opens its doors for the public to see glass-blowing demonstrations, tour the studios and participate in hands-on activities.
Visitors will also be treated to live music, concessions and a raffle for the chance to win a 2010 Annual Auction table centerpiece, according to the glass school website.
The Pilchuck Glass School open house is noon to 5 p.m. July 18 at the school, 1201 316th St. NW, Stanwood. Tickets are $20; children 12 and younger are admitted free. Reservations are required. Go to pilchuck.com/events/open_house.shtml.
