50 YEARS AGO (1959)
James E. Wilson of Everett, with Everett Naval Reserve Surface Division 13-11, was attending a Navy enlisted classification school at the headquarters of the 13th Naval District in Seattle.
Charles Hall of Arlington, Naval Reserve electronics technician striker, was attending a four-weeks electronic technical course at the U.S. Naval Base, Treasure Island, Calif. Before leaving for school, he was at the Everett Naval Reserve Center.
25 YEARS AGO (1984)
Four gray whales were spotted frolicking just off Mission Head near Tulalip Bay. Observers said they were about 100 yards from shore where they leaped, splashed and generally appeared to be having a good time. The pod eventually swam away toward Port Susan.
David and Susan Campbell’s home had all the angles. He was a builder who wanted something unique and the result was that. The central feature was a sunken living room with an octagon shape that focused on a stone fireplace. The house would be featured on the third annual Business and Professional Women’s Parade of Homes.
