Members of the Trade Development Committee of the Everett Chamber of Commerce were busy planning the Everett Street Fair, a major community sales promotion. Working on the project with chairman Paul Alley were George Herron, Ray Glynn, Bill Cross and Norm Christianson. More than 70 Everett stores and business firms were participating.
New home construction in Everett reached its highest peak in April since 1954, city building inspector Lawrence Erickson reported. Among the 33 permits were 19 for new residences. These included a duplex and a six-unit apartment building.
25 YEARS AGO (1984)
Dr. Bruce Lamus recently resigned after 11 years on the Everett School Board. The Everett physician reflected on his time with the board, often using the word “we” in the decisions the board made. He said the five members worked together like fingers on a hand. The other board members were Earl Dutton, Shirley Vandermeer, Bob Daoust and Don Rider.
Kim Wilson of Everett was named president of the college yearbook, “Retrospect,” at Cottey College, a two-year liberal-arts college at Nevada, Mo.
