50 YEARS AGO (1959)
Jack Holl was granted a graduate assistanceship at the University of Maine where he would study for his master of arts degree. He was a 1955 graduate of Everett High School and received his bachelor of arts from Pacific Lutheran College.
By Products amassed 16 hits to outscore Coast-to-Coast in Little League action. Responsible in part for the victory were Bobby Tapert, Larry Deisher, Larry Martin, Steve Jensen and Steve Sorenson. Bobby Fankhauser was Coast-to-Coast’s big sticker.
25 YEARS AGO (1984)
Students in landscaping courses at the Sno-Isle Vocation Skills Center completed landscape projects just in time for the critical eyes of professional judges. Winners were James Duggins of Granite Falls High School, Wes Cleveland of Mariner High School, Tracy McKibben of Lake Stevens Alternative High School and Brian Rose of Everett High School.
Basking in bright sunshine and a light breeze, students of Zion Lutheran School near Snohomish helped dedicate an American flag and memorial plaque to the memory of the nation’s war dead. Sharing honors as student flag honor guards and assisting the initial hoisting of the flag were students Scott Schumachger, Marvin Lauterbach, Chris Reckard and David Rossman.
