50 YEARS AGO (1958)
Snohomish County Museum, located in Legion Memorial Park, was again open to the public this from 2 until 5 p.m. Sunday. Officers of the museum association said special groups could visit at other hours. Arrangements could be made by contacting Alvin Pettersen.
Thomas H. Quast was elected president of the Board of Commissioners of Snohomish County Public Utility District at their organizational meeting. Perry Black was named vice president and William B. Berry, new member of the board, secretary. In other PUD action, a contract for an electric sign to be installed at the new electric center was awarded to Keith Neon Co.
25 YEARS AGO (1983)
Shirley Vandermeer was new president of the Everett School Board, succeeding Bob Daoust. Board vice president was Don Rider.
Gene Fosheim of Everett was one of the instructors at the new Lake Washington Vocational Institute in Kirkland. He taught a technical-illustration program to students ranging in age from 18 to 65 who were interested in changing skills. Fosheim he was happy with his profession and excited about the future of the school.
