50 YEARS AGO (1958)
Travel to and from Everett from the south was improved this week with the opening of the second set of travel lanes on the Broadway Cut-Off. Cross traffic going from Beverly Park to Bothell would find it more difficult to cross. The was no stoplight.
The Twelve Tones from Olympic View Junior High were singing carols for the annual Christmas Tea of the Women’s Association of the First Presbyterian Church in Westminster Hall. Led by Lois M. Dexter, the girls were Ann Youngstrom, Lynn Hamilton, Julie Searle, Cheryl Beachler, Janet Harms, Frances Seevers, Karen McCarroll, Sheila Bryson, Brenda Burch, Caron Nichol, Diane Torgerson and Sharon Theige.
25 YEARS AGO (1983)
Foster &Marshall/Shearson invited the public to their new home at 2927 Colby Ave. They advertised that the world was larger than Wall Street. T. Jackson Warfield was manager.
The wrestling season was on and the teams were ready. Marysville-Pilchuck Coach Rick Iverson was teaching his boys some holds. Mariner Coach Bruce Burns said a wrestler had to have a strong self-image. Lake Stevens Coach Steve Anderson said you have to invest so much to survive.
