50 YEARS AGO (1958)
Douglas Fir Wholesalers Inc. of Marysville showed steady growth and indications for continued expansion. The firm actually worked with cedar instead of Douglas fir. Employee Dan Howton showed owner and manager Arthur Erickson one of the mill’s newest attractive products. Samples of the work would be featured in the show windows of Gaston Realty Estate, Sorenson Realty and D.A. Duryee and Co. during the next two weeks.
Dr. Charles H. Jones, superintendent of Northern State Hospital, would be the featured speaker when the Snohomish County Mental Health Association met at Everett Junior College, Eighth and Lombard, in the Faculty Lounge, Campus Center Building.
25 YEARS AGO (1983)
Snohomish County Sheriff’s Lt. Arthur Iverson, assistant commander of the detective division, attended the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Va., for 12 weeks in specialized law enforcement training.
Janeann Good of Everett was a member of the Carroll College forensics team that won seven trophies and a third place overall at a speech tournament recently at Whitman College in Walla Walla. She won second place in novice interpretation. Teams from 23 schools from six states took part in the competition.
