50 YEARS AGO (1958)
Betty Gilbreath of the Board of Trustees of Telemac, West Coast Telephone Employees Activities Association, presented a $120 scholarship to Diane Cross, Everett Junior College freshman. Also present were Diane’s mother, Hannah Cross, and EJC Dean of Students Wayne Culver.
Charlotte Moe and Don Pringle were among the 725 members of the junior class of Everett High School who participated in the special Iowa Tests of Educational Development this week. A new type of testing, the results were to show educational development rather that a specific rating in a given subject.
25 YEARS AGO (1983)
At the State 4-H Fair at Puyallup, Kathy Nygard of Stanwood was champion of the intermediate division of the large animal round robin fitting and showing contest. Also winning champion honors in dairy fitting and showing was Suzanne McClure of Arlington.
Snohomish County’s newest and seventh-largest city — Mill Creek — had its first meeting tonight. City Council members-elect were Anthony Levitsis, Linn Epperly, Tracy Grayson, Paul Marshall Heisig, Sid Hanson and Ruth Pettit. The final position required a flip of a coin between Ginny Milne and Gary Rhoden.
