50 years ago (1961)
Mukilteo was getting a new post office. It would be located at the corner of Third and Loveland streets on property held by the government. Mayme C. Ross was the Mukilteo postmistress.
Opening tomorrow was the Arctic Circle Drive-In on Highway 99 opposite Albertsons. For the grand opening hamburgers were two for a quarter. Also on the menu were ranch-fried chicken, malts, shakes, sundaes and soft drinks.
25 years ago (1986)

Mobil Oil Corp. and First Interstate of Washington reached an agreement whereby customers would be able to use their ACCEL bankcards throughout Mobil’s Washington state retail network, the bank announced. Since the first quarter of 1975 the First Interstate Bancards had been as good as cash at 67 Mobil stations around Puget Sound.
