50 years ago (1961)
Born on Port Susan in 1886, Thomas Adams of 714 Ash St., Marysville, was one of the real pioneers of the area. He had spent much of his life working in the woods in the early logging business, such as working for Cavalero and Jack Hogan.
Peter Arnestad, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. Arnestad, 2701 18th St., was celebrating his second birthday today. Peter had a brother, Bob, 15, and a sister, Diane, 12. His grandmother was Mrs. Brekhus of Silvana.
25 years ago (1986)
Lee Ayne Wilmot of Lakewood and Michael Easlep of Everett were among those who would use a proposed 15-mile bike trail. If the dream came true the county would have such a trail beginning at Pigeon Creek, then going north along the Everett waterfront and then up the Snohomish River to downtown Snohomish.
Two new businesses had opened in Everett. Corner-Stone Homes & Property Inc., 2820 Hewitt Ave., was a contracting firm owned by Mike V. Heckendorf and Foster Thompson. REI Commercial Drafting Resources Inc. had opened at 917 134th St. SW, Suite 209. Dave V. Will was the manager.
