50 years ago (1961)

Jessica Pavish, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Pavish of Marysville, was a year old today. Godparents were Mr. and Mrs. Avery Collins of Marysville; grandfather was Harold Kallicott and great-grandmothers were Serena Kallicott and Catherine Skucy.

That Americans were held in respect throughout the Free World was the word left with Everett Exchange Club by Lt. Col. Fred C. Huffman of Paine Field. The speaker extended his congratulations to the two boys and two girls to whom the club was paying special honors. They were Mike Denny of North Junior and Nancy Schwartz of South Junior, and Terry Foote and William Almon, both of Everett High.

25 years ago (1986)

A. Patterson Miller was named chairman of the board of trustees at General Hospital. Other board members, recently honored for more than 120 years of service collectively included Arne Lervick, Stephen Saunders, Arthur Soli, Cliff Henning, Dr. Roger Hoffman and Sim Wilson.

Diana Day, a 1983 graduate of Everett High School, received the Washington State University Director’s Award. She was the top graduate in the university’s honors program.
