The regular meeting of Phi Nu Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi was tonight in the home of Linda Smith, 3617 Friday Ave. Co-hostesses were Martha Stephenson and Pat Whalen. A program titled, “Am I Spiritually Right?” was presented by Nita Gienger.
Pete Pirkle, representative of the Heart Association of Snohomish County, received a heart pin from Mary Lou White, Tag Day chair for Everett Assembly No. 9, Order of Rainbow for Girls, as Elaine Cooper, Rainbow worthy adviser looked on. Rainbow girls would be presenting pins downtown the next two weekends.
25 years ago (1986)
About 350 wild horses rounded up from the plains of eastern Oregon by the Bureau of Land Management were now up for adoption at the Marysville Livestock Auction.
Deke Reusaat’s 22 points powered Darrington to a 77-48 Northwest B League boys’ basketball victory over Friday Harbor. Craig Kjallin and Dave Rumsey added 14 and 10 respectively as the Loggers outscored the Wolverines in every quarter, improving their league record to 11-5.
