50 years ago (1961)
Rod Boddington, Sultan attorney selected as one of the outstanding young men in the state last year by the Washington Junior Chamber of Commerce, would be the guest speaker at the annual Bosses Night at the Everett Junior Chamber of Commerce.
Jim Kjolso, star sprinter of the Edmonds High School and Everett Elks track teams, received two national AAU awards from John Warnock, AAU commissioner, and Keith Gilbertson, coach for both teams.
25 years ago (1986)
The Boeing 767-300 jetliner — the latest version of a family of planes that would that would carry the Boeing Commercial Airplane Co. into the future — received its official unveiling today at the company’s Everett plant. The introduction brought an estimated 5,000 onlookers.
An amended Everett-Seattle light rail system looked good to Everett Mayor Bill Moore. He was recommending that the City Council approve it and had told his staff to begin looking for the best location of the rail line in the city. The mayor had waited to get the final word that the line would terminate in Everett.
