50 years ago (1962)
Cub Scout Pack 26, East Sunnyside, met with Richard Fuller, committee chair welcoming four new boys to the rank of bobcat: Rodney Fuller, Carl Hawkins, David Holmes and Gary NcCoy. A play was presented under the direction of Den Mothers Carmella Trautman and Bonnie Fuller. Ralph Roalson led the group in songs.
The new Edmonds Civic Center had an exhibit of 50 art works by members of the Edmonds Arts and Crafts Club. Among the artists were Sally Barnett, Gloria Mitchell, Merle Vine and Betty Finlon.
25 years ago (1987)
Harbor Marine was having a tarp sale. It was a time to get a tarp before the rains started to put on your wood pile, boat, trailer, camper, motor home, truck or car. The business, open seven days a week, was located at 1402 West Marine View Drive at the 14th Street Marina.
The winner of the Football Forecaster Contest for games played last weekend was Lance Green. The South Whidbey High School freshman said it was the first time he had played. He won $100 with 17 of 20 games picked as winners. Green said that he and his dad watched football a lot.
