50 years ago (1962)
Clyde Phillips, owner of the Coast to Coast Store on the northeast corner of Everett and Colby avenues, was repairing a large display window after it was blown out by high winds.
Kim Todd Tuerk, son of Mr. and Mrs. R.B. Tuerk, 2207 Broadway, was a year old today. Grandparents were Mr. and Mrs. Otto Clink, Snohomish, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Tuerk, Everett. Great-grandparents were J.E. Barr, Leona Tuerk, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tuerk, all of Everett, and Mr. and Mrs. Archie Olson of Snohomish, and Daisy Wright of Yakima.
25 years ago (1987)
Country singer Jim Stafford was scheduled to give a concert next month at the Civic Auditorium. It was a benefit for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and tickets were $8. They were available at Carousel Music in Everett, Budget Tapes and Records in Marysville and Everett, Mr. Jeeps in Snohomish and Arlington Music.
Tickets were on sale for the Everett Symphony Orchestra/Olympic Ballet company production of “The Nutcracker,” also at the Civic Auditorium next month. Tickets were available at Carousel Music, Cascade Music in Marysville and Portable L at Everett Community College.
