Staff and management of Shepard Ambulance were volunteering their time tomorrow so some hospital patients might spend Christmas Day at home. Shepard would provide free transportation home Christmas morning and back to the hospital that evening for patients that hospitals determined could spend an afternoon away.

Ann Beckmann wrote a review on Cajun Joe’s in Sultan. She called it the county’s first serious attempt at down-home Louisiana eats. With the exception of a hunk of blackened fish here or a respectable gumbo there, nobody had hung out a shingle promising a variety of true Cajun and Creole fare.
