50 years ago (1962)
Gordon L. Christian, Everett sales supervisor for West Coast Telephone Co., was one of 41 executives of independent telephone companies participating in a management development program at the University of Kansas. The program was sponsored by the United State Independent Telephone Association.
Wane T. Esbenshade, 2013 41st St., was named special agent for the Everett agency of the Prudential Insurance Co. Esbenshade was a native of the city. He attended schools in Deming, Toldeo, Ore., and Bellingham. He also served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps from 1951 to 1953. A former employee of the Washington state Game Department, Olympia, he was married and had five children.
25 years ago (1987)
The Snohomish County Public Utility District had appointed two men to new positions. Thomas J. Harrigan, formerly with Western Gear Machinery Co., was named construction manager. Don Pendleton, a PUD employee since 1980, was named commercial energy supervisor.
Business Computer Training Institute’s Everett school, located at 7100 Evergreen Way, had been accredited by the Council for Noncollegiate Continuing Education. The school specialized in training people in word processing data entry and office automation.
