50 years ago (1962)
Cedric Wardall, director of student activities at Everett Junior college presented Everett Civic Music with a check for EJC student memberships. On hand were Lucile Wilson, girls counselor at Marysville during the drive, and Effie Ramstad, team captain.
Barbara LeBeau, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William LeBeau, 3621 Wetmore Ave., was to be installed as worthy adviser of Everett Assembly No. 9 International Order of Rainbow for Girls in ceremonies at the Scottish Rite Temple. Other elected officers were Donna Beam, Nancy Stage, Margaret Booth, Aleta Sunde, Alys Cornett and Laurel Downing.
25 years ago (1987)
Everett Travel Bureau, 1613 Hewitt Ave., advertised a ski package weekend at Blackcomb and Whistler Mt. It included three nights lodging at the Fireplace Inn, three day ski lift ticket and round trip bus from Everett. Prices started from $210 double occupancy.
A rich mixture of airplanes and hot buttered corn on the cob held the undivided attention of a large crowed of people yesterday at Harvey Airfield in Snohomish. The attraction was a renewal of the traditional Corn Roast Fly-in at the airfield.
