50 years ago (1962)

Singer Gisele Mac-Kenzie enjoyed a visit to Everett and vicinity yesterday. She viewed the yacht basin and the Hat Island development. MacKenzie was starring in “Annie Get Your Gun” at Seattle’s Aqua Theater.

An open house was scheduled for tomorrow afternoon in the new offices of the Lynn-Manor Shopping Center at 4739 196th St., three quarters of a mile east of the traffic light on Highway 99 in Lynnwood. Coffee and cookies would be offered and company officials would be present to answer questions regarding the big new shopping center soon to be constructed.

25 years ago (1987)

Jerri Reid had been promoted to vice president and resident general manager for The Bon. She was previously manager of the Everett downtown Bon store, resident manager of the Everett Mall Bon store and resident general manager of the Alderwood Mall Bon store. Reid was a graduate of Pacific Lutheran University and also spent two years with the Peace Corps.

Abie Castillo of Edmonds was named manager of the Group Health Cooperative Bothell Medical Center on Bothell Way. He previously was a supervisor of radiology and the laboratory at the Group Health Lynnwood Medical Center.
