50 years ago (1962)
Inspecting certificates they received at a luncheon after completing the Sterling Speake Credit School held in Everett at the end of May were Violet World, Bob LaGrandeur and Signe Hjermstad. Fifty-five credit department workers from firms throughout the county attended the school.
Prottas &Levitt Furniture was opening its fifth store tomorrow at 4824 Highway 99, Evergreen Way in south Everett. The completely redecorated building, inside and out, had more than 8,500 feet of floor space and ample parking. William Jameson was store manager. The company also had three stores in Seattle and one in Burien.
25 years ago (1987)
The public was invited to see Magic Mike today at Providence Hospital. The magician would perform his craft in conjunction with the hospital’s celebration of the expansion of its diagnosis imaging department where the magic of technology came of life.
Hundreds of people crowded Edmonds’ Brackett’s Landing beach to enjoy the sun and marvel at a minus-4 tide. Screaming children ran in the surf and explored tide pools. At Mukilteo State Park Tom Minker and his daughter Samantha were among the tide poolers and clam diggers.
