50 years ago (1962)
The Rev. G. Dennis Bergman and several young people of Trinity Lutheran Church called attention to the opening of its new Teen Canteen, Stop and Go. The teens were Dave Sommer, Sue Radke, Judy Sanford and Randy Enberg.
John Scott, instructor and operator of the Snohomish Parachute Center, signed up Wilma Hawkins, representing Silver King Café; Jim Clausing and Doug Engelbretson, Everett Police Department; and Duane Lynde, of Purdy and Dawson, to represent the Junior Chamber of Commerce at the parachute exhibitions.
25 years ago (1987)
Sports columnist Larry Henry wrote an article on Jim Ennis. He was a football coach or athletic director for 42 years, 33 of them in the Everett School District. Dick Hanson remembered getting a chewing out during a game. Though much taller than Ennis, Hanson swore that he was looking up at his coach.
Two auto dealerships at Smokey Point advertised deals. Smokey Point Pontiac-Buick-Olds-GMC was having a storage yard clearance sale with more than200 vehicles to select from. Mark Sidley (Chrysler, Plymouth and Dodge) offered Voyagers vans for $13,999.
