50 years ago (1962)
Dale Renberg was now associated with the New York Life Insurance Co. offices in the Medical-Dental Building in Everett. He also had an office at his home, 417 Ave. D, Snohomish. He formerly was a salesman for Bickford Motors and ran a Chevron station in Snohomish.
Four South Whidbey teens took President John F. Kennedy’s words about physical fitness to heart by walking around the entire island on beaches the past six days. They were Kelley Dodge, John Dodge, Henry Deposit and Jay Wheeler.
25 years ago (1987)
Larry Eason, who had recently passed away, was remembered affectionately for his 21 years of coaching the boys track and cross-country programs at Snohomish High School. Carl Roth, his longtime associate and close friend, said Eason was a fantastic coach and teacher.
Thurmans at 2201 36th St. was holding a free do-it-yourself window clinic. Johnson-Postman made insulated wood windows that conformed to measurements of aluminum windows popular in the Northwest.
