Clair Mackie and Kate Thompson displayed clothing of the type members of Saint Teresa’s Guild of Trinity Episcopal Church were making for Navajo Indian children, to be distributed through Saint Christopher’s Mission at Bluff, Utah.
Directors of choirs involved in a special choir festival set for this Sunday in Everett’s First Baptist Church checked over details of the program. They were Robert Northrop, Donald Chamberlin, Ted Wahlstrom, W.E. Steward and Floyd Turner. Four Protestant churches would participate.
25 years ago (1987)
The Everett City Council today unanimously accepted the plan to provide access to the proposed Navy base and Scott Paper Co. along what would become a crowded waterfront. The move called for a surface road using left-turn spaces and alternating between four and six lanes between 18th Street and Pacific Avenue along West Marine View Drive.
The Washington Ferry Service was planning to add a third ferry to the Mukilteo-Clinton run, though the additional boat was not expected to be in operations for two years. Steve Smith of the ferry system said the third boat had been budgeted.
