Paul Ross, manger of the Pay ‘n Save store in Everett for seven years, congratulated his successor, Al Gillet, who came here from Portland. Ross was elevated to supervisor at headquarters in Seattle.
Scott Lee Ruff, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Ruff, Stanwood, was one year old today. Grandparents were Mr. and Mrs. Einer Olson of Lakewood and Mr. and Mrs. L.L. Ruff of Stanwood. Great-grandparents were Mrs. Thina Bjorn of Lakewood, Mrs. Anna Ruff of Everett, and Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Richmond of Mount Vernon. Scott had an older sister, Joanne Linn.
25 years ago (1987)
Everett auto race driver Wes Tipton was to drive all 10 races on the International Conference of Sports Car Club series this season in pursuit of the Formula Ford title. A 12-year veteran of formula and sports car racing on the amateur level, Tipton would begin his season in May.
At Everett, Cory Decker made the most of his first starting assignment in league play by scoring a game-high 21 points to lead Everett to the Westco AAA victory. The Seagulls improved to 4-3 in conference and 10-7 overall.
