The sports page had a photo of Everett High School football coach Bill Dunn, whose team was the Western Conference champion. He was flanked by Terry Ennis, voted team inspirational player, and Gary Haynes, winner of the blocking award.
Officers for 1962 at Tualco Grange were Tye Hagman, Harold Ohlsen, Don Steffen, Judy Steffen, Roger Ohlsen, Joe Weldum, Elma Steffen, Emma Nelson, Nick Eagan, Jean Bar, Audrey Merritt, Helena Glover, Harriet Barr, Alma Steffen, Helen Eagan, George Ohlsen, Duncan Barr and Harry Nelson.
25 years ago (1986)
Luther Child Center of Everett had earned a certificate of accreditation from the Council on Accreditation Service for Families and Children. Ronald K. Jacobson was the agency’s executive director. The center also had offices in Lynnwood, Arlington and Monroe.
Sign painter Harley Mullen and his children, Joanne Marie and Kerri Ann, stood in front of his Old West Sign Co. in the Midway area north of Marysville. Mullen captured the past by painting signs of Pierce Arrow Motor Cars, the V-12 Phaeton, the Packard Motor Coach Co., Signal Gasoline and the flying red horse of Mobilgas.
