Howard Bargreen, long active in Scout work here; Tom Nadin, Scoutmaster from Meadowdale; and L. Gray Beck, a past president of Evergreen Area Council, received the Silver Beaver award at the council’s annual recognition program at the Elks Home. Dr. L.G. Beck, himself a Silver Beaver award winner in 1936, accepted for his son, who was unable to attend.
The Everett YMCA was offering a learn-to-swim school at the “Y” Day Camp Otyokwa at Silver Lake. Bus pickup was in the parking lot on the former Everett Junior College campus at 26th Street and Rockefeller Avenue.

High, Wide ‘n Han’some, formerly Austin’s High and Wide, had clothing for the big or tall man. On sale at the Everett store were dress shirts, jackets, slacks, sweaters, jogging suits, vests and turtlenecks. Dick Reed was the proprietor.
For dads and grads, Everett Church Supply, a Christian bookstore and more at 2605 Wetmore Ave., had the perfect gift. On sale was the Zondervan Thompson Chain Bible that identified Scripture reference to more than 4,000 persons, places and events.
