50 YEARS AGO (1960)
Linda Carlson was engaged to Arland Wallin. She was a senior at General Hospital of Everett School of Nursing. Her fiance was a graduate of Western Washington College and taught at Jackson School in Everett. A June wedding was planned.
Three boys who were to attend the annual National Jubilee of the Boy Scouts this summer were shown a map of the conclave sight near Colorado Springs, Colo., by Joel Carlson, chairman of the Evergreen Area Council’s Jamboree committee. They were Mike Cashen of the Yacht Club-sponsored Sea Scout Ship 1, and Dennis Jordan and Jerome Schmierer of Elks-sponsored Troop 1.
25 YEARS AGO (1985)
There was a citrus fruit sale under way to raise money for the American Field Service foreign exchange student scholarship fund, according to Amy Youngstrom, sale coordinator. Everett, Cascade, Mariner, Lake Stevens, Stanwood, Lynnwood and Arlington high schools were taking part.
