50 YEARS AGO (1960)
Thelma Berg of Everett was one of 10 women in the country to receive the Camp Fire Girls Silver Leadership Medallion Award for excellence in work with girls. Involved in the organization 14 years, she started as a leader with daughter Lucille’s Blue Bird group.
The Richard Faulhaber family, 1409 Grand Ave., was eating ripe tomatoes these days, far ahead of the regular season. The tomatoes were grown in the kitchen window after being started last fall. Daughter Sara Ann, 4, took care of watering. The Faulhabers moved here the year before from Battle Creek, Mich. He was employed with the regional office of Civil and Defense Mobilization.

Bill Herschlip was the top salesperson of the month at Realty Brokerage.
A sign-raising ceremony commemorating Group Health Cooperative of Puget Sound’s plans to provide primary care in Marysville would be tomorrow at 8205 State Ave. After the ceremony, refreshments would be served at MacDonald’s Barn, 3327 Sunnyside Blvd.
