50 YEARS AGO (1960)
Beryl Manley, extremely active in welfare circles in Snohomish County during the past decade, would assume a new post as case worker at Parkland Luther Children’s Home here. Manley also was well known in the community through her participation in activities directed toward strengthening services for all residents in the county.
Marysville Assembly of God Church at Fourth and Delta streets was noting “Twin Sunday” this Sunday. Twins including Margaret and Theresa Gordon, 8, and Will and Jim Powell, 82, were to participate in the service. The Rev. Edwin Smith, pastor of the church, said several other twins would take part in the unusual service.
25 YEARS AGO (1985)
Bessie Rudd would be honored on the occasion of her 100th birthday, March 17, at an open house in the recreation room of Losvar Condominiums in Mukilteo. Hostesses were her daughters, Jean Ogren of Chicago and Dorothy Lynn of Mukilteo.
Now open in the Everett Mall was Sears Financial Network Center. For insurance needs there was Allstate and for investments there was Dean Witter. All of these financial resources were in one place.
