50 YEARS AGO (1960)
The third Community Forum of the season, The Population Problem, would be at the Unitarian Church, 22nd Street and Baker Avenue, discussed by John A. Broussard of Everett Junior College, a sociologist.
Adolph Rygg was the new president of Everett Rotary Club, succeeding Harold Walsh. The new vice president named at the annual election of officers at the Elks Home was Dr. Richard C. Kiltz. J.A. Norway was chosen treasurer.
25 YEARS AGO (1985)
The importance of agriculture to Snohomish County was the main topic at a National Agriculture Day luncheon in the Indian Longhouse at the Evergreen State Fair grounds. Principal speaker was state Sen. Cliff Bailey, a Snohomish dairyman.
Floyd and Bessie Templeton celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the Sons of Norway Hall in Stanwood. Their children were Mr. and Mrs. Paul Denton of Stanwood, Mrs. and Mrs. Floyd Templeton of Stanwood, and Mr. and Mrs. John Templeton of Bellingham. They had seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
