50 YEARS AGO (1960)
Ted Lozeau, veteran officer of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, donned a heavy knit sweater that was presented to him as a retirement gift. Admiring the sweater was Sebastion Williams, business manager of the Tulalip Tribes. Lozeau was stepping down after more than 50 years of service.
Two trucks collided at the intersection of Pacific and Lombard avenues in Everett due to the snow and ice on city streets. This was just one of 15 such accidents in the Everett area due to the wet snow. The heaviest snow of the season happened during the morning hours.
25 YEARS AGO (1985)
At Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi, Airman Scott A. Murphy of Marysville graduated from a wideband communications equipment course, and Airman 1st Class Chad L. Spaetig of Snohomish completed an electronic computer and switching system course.
Air Force Airman Darrin V. Costlow of Stanwood was scheduled to serve at the Makah Air Force Station with his new skills as an aircraft control and radar repairman.
