50 YEARS AGO (1960)
Dr. Paul Lauer, Everett surgeon and first clarinetist with the Everett Civic Symphonette, was a featured performer in Friday evening’s winter concert of the Symphonette at the Campus Center of Everett Junior College. The conductor was Paul Giroux, head of the music department at EJC.
Honored for outstanding service to the community was Ruth Andreason, supervisor of the Visiting Nurse Association, by fellow nurses at a dinner meeting Wednesday of the Washington State Nurses Association at Waldheim. June Hall, District No. 9 secretary, was emcee for the “This Is Your Life” portion of the program.
25 YEARS AGO (1985)
The Everett chapters of Order of Aphea and Daughters of Penelope had donated $600 to Sparrow Ministries and $200 to the Puget Sound Kidney Foundation, thanks to the success of the annual fundraising Greek festival, Ever on Sunday, staged at Normanna Hall.
William Bolt achieved “6-gallon” status at the Sno-Isle Community Blood Bank last month. Added to the 4-gallon club were Airdee Ensign, Richard Pfeifer and Barbara Richardson, while 3-gallon recognition was given to Barry O. Nesheim and Richard A. Nielson.
