50 YEARS AGO (1959)
Clayton LeMoine, 12, displayed his ticket-selling technique for the upcoming South Everett Little League Association dance to dance chairman Joe Malecki and association president Bill Taylor. Clayton had sold 59 tickets so far, almost three times as many as the next best.
The Style Show of the Log Cabin Club would be next Thursday in the Marysville Masonic Temple. During the style show, models would show fashions from Marian’s Dress Shop and clothes made from Mrs. Lewis’ Fabric Shop. Selecting material and patterns for the show were two of the models, Lowell Dudley and Virginia Regan.
25 YEARS AGO (1984)
Barbara McCarthy with Frontier Bank of Everett was one of eight nationwide recipients of the American Bankers Association 1984 Bankers News Weekly Commendation. The only Northwest winner, she was awarded the honor in recognition of her creativity and initiative in the promotion of Frontier.
Life should be better for fish and motorists following completion of a $185,000 flood-control project on Portage Creek near Arlington. It included a manmade stretch of creekbed that provided a larger outlet for flood waters that often clogged Burn Road.
