50 YEARS AGO (1959)
After relaxing for three weeks while on vacation, Joe Bolger was back to work as the new service manager for Sevenich Motor Co. Bolger had been schooled in General Motors products and procedures in serving both automobiles and trucks. Born and raised here, he was a graduate of MIT, where he obtained a degree in electronics.
One minor change would be noted in the Snohomish mail schedule due to the discontinuance of the mail train, the Cascadian, according to Postmaster Jack Meyer. All mail would be supplied to Snohomish by truck from Everett and Wenatchee.
25 YEARS AGO (1984)
Two new pastors were taking over pulpits in Everett. The Rev. Roger Wiganosky began his ministry at first Covenant Church of Everett after installation last week. The Rev. Thomas R. Martin was to assume the senior pastor position at First United Methodist Church of Everett as of Sept. 1.
A Lip Sync Contest presented by Everett Community College was taking place at Everett Mall with back-to-school fashions. With this there were breakdancing finals.
