Got a manuscript and want to know how to make contacts and maybe get it published?
Or maybe you want a critique of your work, or perhaps some tips on plotting a mystery.
The Whidbey Island Writers Conference, April 1 to 3 in Coupeville, offers all that and more. Register for any of the days of the workshops and “chat houses” and you can add a private consultation with an agent or editor ($15 for members, $20 for nonmembers per consultation).
Andrea Hurst of Andrea Hurst Literary Management will present “Perfect Pitch: Prepare for Success,” an hourlong workshop designed to help conference attendees get the most from their consultations at 11 a.m. April 1.
Literary agents and editors from an array of genres will provide expertise at the chat houses and for a variety of workshops.
Basic cost for the April 1 workshops is $105 for members and $115 for nonmembers.
April 2 chat houses cost $180 and $210.
The marketing and publishing session April 3 cost $60 and $75.
Consultations or critiques on April 1 and 2 require additional fees.
For conference details or to register, go to www.writeonwhidbey.org or call 360-331-0307. Whidbey Island Writers Association membership information is also available on the website.
